We don’t expect our governors to be experts when they’re appointed or elected. We know that there is lots to learn, so we have a list of required and recommended training you’ll need to complete to make sure you understand your responsibilities and can do a good job of being a governor. 

Gathered in one handy booklet you can find details of training being offered within the PFMAC together with details of courses offered by our external partners. Our training programme for autumn 2023 is available as a download below. 

As busy volunteers it can often be difficult to know what training to undertake. Consequently, we have a governor training schedule. A few courses are required, for example, safeguarding, but most of the schedule consists of helpful suggestions as to what training is appropriate based on your responsibilities and guidance on how to access it.
